OMT-HOT main page

The annual conference will bring together members of the OMT and HOT consortia, two H2020 funded projects coordinated by EPFL and consisting of research groups from academia and industry. The aim is to create a synergy between the two projects and members given the thematic overlap on Optomechanical Technologies.

Hybrid Optomechanical Technologies (HOT) is a FET Proactive project that will lay the foundation for a new generation of hybrid devices which exploit a nano- or micro-mechanical oscillator to couple and control the electrical, optical and microwave domains. These devices will enable capabilities such as low phase-noise microwave generation, radiofrequency-to-optical conversion and on-chip microwave and optical isolators. Target domains include medicine (MRI), security (radar and terahertz imaging), timing and navigation, and future quantum technology.

Optomechanical Technologies (OMT) is a Marie Curie European Training Network that trains a new generation of highly skilled researchers in the field of optomechanical technologies – new technologies based on cavity optomechanical interactions that allow to read out and control mechanical oscillators at the quantum level using optical fields. OMT fellows will have the opportunity to present and discuss their work at the annual meeting to leading scientists from both projects, as well as learn of latest developments in the field.
